Honeymoon with my Brother

So as promised here is my book review of Franz Wisner's Honeymoon with my Brother. But first, a quick work update. Friday was a shoot with design blogger Shannon Acheson, check out her blog here :) It was a great shoot as per usual haha.

My cousin Devin and I currently have our hands on a list. On this list there are 30 books. All of these books are going to be read by the time we both turn 30.

After reading Honeymoon with my Brother, I completely understand why it is on this list. While on my "journey" to work every morning, I followed the journey of two brothers that had the courage to drop everything and go. We got to explore Europe, Asia, North and South America, and finally, Africa.

Now reading this from a 21 year old perspective, it's something I very much want to do in my lifetime. Franz and Kurt (the brothers) travelled the world in a 2 year timespan, and while it would be awesome to do at that pace, it may happen at a much slower pace. However that hasn't stopped my desire to get out and explore the world around us.

Honeymoon with my Brother is more than just about traveling though, it has so many themes and is a great memoir that everyone should read. Its a tale of escape, discovery, strengthening relationships, and grasping opportunities when life presents them.

The back cover says it all,

"It was the honeymoon of a lifetime -- Fifty-three countries, two years, and a world of discovery. The only thing missing was the bride."

Just go read this book, you won't regret it :)

  1. An inspiring tale, I never considered traveling as seriously as after reading this book. Now it all seems accessible, and I am assured that all of lifes missteps lead to another adventure. Let's explore!
